CSU Strata is seeking a Technology Intern to work with the Director of Technology on innovative projects in technology, budgeting and financial systems, and ERP-related projects. These responsibilities will include technical support, hardware and software installation, configuration, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This position is the first line of technology support.
QUALIFICATIONS – Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Required Education:
Currently enrolled at Colorado State University as a Junior, Senior, or graduate student or recent graduate.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Experience with reporting tools or Microsoft Excel.
- Basic familiarity with IT concepts, databases, and software tools.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
Preferred
- Current enrollment in a computer or business program: Accounting, Finance, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Sciences program. Undergraduate, graduate level, or three years equivalent experience in a similar program or previous work experience.
- Experience with any ERP or financial system (NetSuite, SAP, etc.).
- Interest in budgeting, business technology, or ERP administration.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python and Visual Studio or similar tools.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Technology Projects and Support
Utilize Western IM AI Software to identify and remediate redundant, obsolete, and trivial (ROT) data and assist implementation of data retention policies. Utilize Python and Visual Studio or similar tools as well as
enterprise tools such as NetSuite, SharePoint, and Salesforce to manage business data. Work in NetSuite to learn administration (certification available) and reporting.
Engage with staff and provide first-line support handling technology inquiries, troubleshooting basic issues, and escalating as needed on employee’s computers, tablets, and phones. Coordinate with CSU’s DOIT helpdesk to resolve tickets.
Budgeting & Financial Systems
Build and maintain an improved Information Technology budget model in NetSuite, including monthly cashflow projections and variance analysis. Establish a template that could serve as a budgeting standard across the organization. Track and monitor technology‑related purchases with guidance from the Director of Technology. Learn how NetSuite is configured and used within Strata. Assist with fine‑tuning workflows, reporting structures, and budgeting processes. Explore NetSuite’s emerging AI‑driven features and provide insight on potential implementations.
Support ongoing integration work using Boomi to connect Salesforce and NetSuite. Assist with the transition of monthly expense reporting from SAP Concur to Visa Spend.
Real Estate Software Support
Assist with the deployment of Re-Leased software that is used by the real estate business unit for managing properties and leases. This software is integrated with NetSuite; assistance may be needed with the implementation and maintenance.

Salary Range: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour, depending on experience
Job Type: Part-Time/Nonexempt, 10-19 hours per week
