Internships Are How CSU Business Students Gain Experience

For many College of Business students, internships are the pathway to full-time employment. Employers use internships to evaluate talent, and students use them to test career paths and build marketable skills. Recruiting for internships often begins months in advance, making early preparation essential. The resources below will help you understand timelines, find opportunities, and compete confidently for internships that support your career goals.

More than half of College of Business undergraduate students complete at least one internship.

Most internships posted on Handshake are paid, though this can vary by industry. Many internships take place during the summer, though opportunities also exist during the academic year. Internships are designed to help you build experience, explore career paths, and develop professional skills while you’re still a student in the College of Business.

College of Business students find internships through Handshake, career fairs, networking, and employer events. Many employers begin recruiting in the fall for summer internships, while some industries recruit in the spring.

Junior year – or earlier – is a great time to intern, and starting early gives you more options and flexibility.
