QUICK ANNOUNCEMENT OF CMC SERVICES: Encourage your students to engage in the career readiness process with a quick visit from the CMC at the beginning or end of class (suggested length: 2-5 minutes)

CMC RESOURCE OVERVIEW: Comprehensive rundown for students of career-ready resources and events based on year/program/concentration (suggested length: 15-50 minutes)

INTRODUCTION TO INTERNSHIPS: Get a crash course on internships for business students, including resources and strategies. Great for sophomores and juniors. (Suggested length: 15-50 minutes)

HOW TO START A JOB SEARCH: Introduction to proactive and reactive strategies for an effective job search. Best for students in their final 1-2 semesters. (Suggested time: 15-50 minutes)

STANDING OUT WITH SELF-MARKETING MATERIALS: Our best practice guidance on resumes and cover letters for students. Flexibility for presentation, workshop, peer-review style. Best for sophomore, junior, senior. (Suggested length: 50 minutes)

SELF-ASSESSMENTS: Have your students take the CliftonStrengths assessment (purchased from Gallup). Our career counselors can facilitate a group assessment interpretation. (Suggested length: 50 minutes). NOTE: Assessments must be purchased. The CMC can help facilitate this process.

INTEGRATE A CAREER-READINESS ASSIGNMENT: Create an assignment to engage students in their career planning. Examples include: resume assignment with rubric, cover letter assignment with rubric, mock interview for extra credit, conduct an informational interview with a professional using the CMC’s Flash Mentoring directory, attend a career fair for extra credit, visit CMC drop-ins for LinkedIn review, etc.
