SUMMARY
Works independently with Learning Services and fiscal staff in coordinating efforts and monitoring state/federal grant spending to maintain and enhance services and programs aligned with Thompson School District’s mission, goals, objectives, services and activities. Focus is primarily on district level, large scale state/federal grants with some connection to school-based grants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Collaborate with the Federal Programs Administrator and other Grant Coordinators to develop and effectively manage program timelines to ensure compliance with state/federal regulations.
- Develop budget and spending plans with stakeholders in accordance with each grant’s requirements.
- Prepare and upload annual grant budgets into BusinessPlus.
- Prepare Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA) report and review report with Director of Finance on a monthly basis.
- Prepare Requests for Funds (RFFs) for all reimbursable grants on a monthly basis.
- Set up GL keys for new grants to ensure proper program, SRE, grant number, and grant year are utilized for reporting purposes.
- Keep relevant stakeholders informed about upcoming deadlines and deliverables, thereby ensuring
smooth completion of grant objectives. - Provide detailed reports to the grant stakeholders around the progress of each grant.
- Monitor grant spending to ensure grants stay within budget and are fully expended.
- Assist with preparation of annual TSD budget.
- Provide documentation as requested during annual financial audit.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience with state and federal grant administration and governmental accounting preferred.
- Willing to train the right candidate.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES
- Advanced math, writing, communication, and accounting skills.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with federal grant rules and regulations including OMB Uniform Grants Guidance.
- Ability to present, communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all stakeholders.
- Ability to develop concepts and ideas in both an acceptable oral and written form.
- Knowledge of all areas of electronic communication, including general computer skills, internet usage, critical evaluation of information, data analysis, and integration of technology.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities, problem solve and make sound decisions.
- Evidence of organizational, planning, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
