>> My name is Ayesha Edwards and I work for the U.S. Department of Education and I'm in the Office of Innovation and Improvement and within that office I work for the assistant deputy secretary and I do pretty much my role in this office is to coordinate our spending plan process and our budgeting process but I also do a number of other things including the coordination of our audit process and the coordination of a number of other program processes that need improvement and other projects that help us improve the way that we run our office and the way that we make our work more efficient and effective. So within the Office of Innovation and Improvement we host what I like to call non-traditional K through 12 programs. A lot of them are starting to become very common in society like charter schools and admit schools but we have arts integration programs, so professional development for arts educators and we also have our, we have our teacher preparation programs. So I guess a typical day for me would be to, once I arrive I usually go through my email because I get a ton of email and since I'm the liaison for my office with other offices across the department I look to see what pressing issues we have for that day. And then typically my day is pretty much meetings with either staff in my office or meetings where I serve as the liaison for my office and so I'm going to these meetings, contributing, and then bringing that information back. So it's not usually until late in the afternoon sometimes where I'm able to actually sit down at my desk and work on some of the projects or the necessary work that needs to get done for my office.
