UN’s Sustainable Development Goals

If you’re looking for ideas on how to leverage your business degree to make an impact, check out the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These are 17 goals the UN and it’s 190+ partner countries identified as “the world’s roadmap” for ending poverty, protecting the planet, and tackling inequalities. The SDGs offer the most practical and effective pathway to tackle the causes of violent conflict, human rights abuses, climate change, and environmental degradation, and aim to ensure that no one will be left behind.
The SDGs reflect an understanding that sustainable development everywhere must integrate:
- 💰 Economic growth,
- 🧑🏽🤝🧑🏼 Social well-being, and
- 🌳 Environmental protection.
As you hover over a goal, click “Read More About…” to get an explanation of the goal, overview of why it’s important, and specific targets (sub-goals) to help us make progress towards achieving the larger goal (this section can be especially helpful in identifying ways you make an impact!).
