Shiloh House is currently seeking a qualified individual for the Accounting Manager position. The ideal candidate will have an Accounting Degree and at least 3 years of accounting experience, with nonprofit experience preferred. This position is ideal for a candidate that is ready to thrive in a dynamic environment, build and enhance systems, and take on additional responsibilities. Responsibilities include overseeing accounting and grants compliance within the Finance Team and supervising two accounting specialists. The Accounting Manager must have strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in Google Apps, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and attention to detail. This role requires a professional appearance and commitment to excellent customer service, reporting directly to the Fractional CFO.

Compensation: In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $70,000 – $80,000 per year. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job related factors permitted by law.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the month-end close process, including posting and reviewing journal entries and related account reconciliations
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounting processes, including program revenue and related collections, accounts payable, and payroll
- Supervise two accounting specialists
- Manage all financial transactions for state, federal, and foundation grants, including monthly invoicing for reimbursable grants; track grant expenditures and compare to the approved budgets; provide grant financial status reports, as requested
- Prepare monthly bank and investment account reconciliations
- Assist with the preparation of reconciliations and support for annual audits
- Continuously document and improve policies and procedures related to accounting internal controls and grants management compliance
- Support the preparation of the annual budgeting process
Requirements:
- Accounting degree.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, with nonprofit experience preferred.
- Must demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong computer and technological skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Google Applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must maintain a professional appearance in the workplace, demonstrate organization, ability to prioritize, deadline management, attention to detail and teamwork.
- Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license or the ability to obtain one with a clean motor vehicle record.
- Must be willing to pass FBI fingerprint & child abuse database background checks.
