Description
The Technical Sales and Marketing Intern will support Daqscribe’s sales and business development activities by learning the company’s products, customers, business systems, and opportunity-support workflows. This role is intended for a rising or recently graduated senior who wants hands-on exposure to technical sales in defense, aerospace, telecom, research, and high-performance data acquisition markets. The intern will help organize customer and opportunity information, support prospecting and market research, prepare sales-enablement material, and assist with proposal, quote, and follow-up activities while developing familiarity with Daqscribe’s technical offerings and internal business systems.
Role and Responsibilities
At Daqscribe, you will:
- Business Systems Familiarization: Learn Daqscribe workflows for tracking prospects, customers, opportunities, quotes, proposals, contacts, and follow-up actions.
- Sales Support: Assist with opportunity research, customer background research, contact list organization, meeting preparation, and post-meeting action tracking.
- Marketing Support: Help draft and organize product summaries, capability statements, web or LinkedIn content ideas, customer-facing one-pagers, and internal sales collateral.
- Technical Product Familiarization: Develop a working understanding of Daqscribe data recorders, target applications, differentiators, and common customer use cases.
- CRM and Data Quality: Help clean, structure, and enrich records in CRM-like systems or spreadsheets, including accounts, contacts, opportunities, industries, and next actions.
- Proposal and Quote Support: Support preparation of draft responses, compliance matrices, sales briefs, pricing-input checklists, and documentation packages under supervision.
- Market and Competitive Research: Research target organizations, programs, conferences, partners, industry trends, and potential channels for Daqscribe offerings.
- Communication and Reporting: Provide concise written updates, maintain task trackers, and document repeatable sales and marketing support processes.
Required Attributes
Qualified team members possess the following attributes:
- Education: Rising or graduated senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree or master’s program in Marketing, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Engineering Management, Industrial Distribution, Communications, Technical Communication, Systems Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical/business field.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be available for a paid internship and able to commit to the agreed internship period and work schedule.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an interest in technical products and customer-facing work.
- Ability to research companies, programs, and markets; summarize findings clearly; and identify practical next actions.
- Comfort using spreadsheets, shared documents, and business systems to track information accurately.
- Professional judgment, discretion, and attention to detail when handling customer, opportunity, and company information.
Desired Attributes
Above-and-beyond attributes include:
- Education: Coursework or project experience in technical marketing, sales, business development, entrepreneurship, product management, market research, systems engineering, or data analytics.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, Pipedrive, or similar tools.
- Experience drafting outreach messages, product summaries, proposal support content, slide content, or customer-facing technical material.
- Interest in aerospace, defense, telecom, research instrumentation, embedded systems, networking, or high-performance data capture markets.
- Comfort translating technical concepts into clear business value for customers and internal stakeholders.
