Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer Internship will allow the successful candidate to enhance their real-life experiences and learn modern skills in the field they are studying. It is an outstanding opportunity to get hands-on experience on the manufacturing plant floor and understand how data is applied to make insightful observations, determine efficiency trends and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Using systems to their maximum potential and make reporting effective, efficient, timely, accurate, and insightful
- Complete studies on current manufacturing equipment installations to evaluate operational efficiency and line performance. Assist with the support of implementing projects for improvement for instance: Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing
- Analyze current operational processes; develop and implement ideas for improvement
- Develop performance standards & metrics; implement analysis and reporting processes to monitor operational performance
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Enrolled in Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering, Food Science, Business or related field
- Possesses interest in working food manufacturing
- Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills
- Students with a minimum of one year of major specific classes, preferred
- Ability to work in a plant environment with exposure to loud, hot, cold, or wet environments
- Ability to sit, stand, walk and climb stairs for eight hours per day
