Completing an education is one part of job readiness. The CSU College of Business provides an outstanding academic foundation for our business students. But what can be missing in the educational environment is knowledge and awareness of business protocol or the behaviors that may be expected in business environments and/or when entering the workplace.

Join us for a 4-course meal to learn the historical roots of dining etiquette, how those expectations translate to the business world, and strategies for negotiating these expectations with a desire to show up authentically. Build confidence in carrying a conversation during a business meal while you learn the proper way to pass the butter and politely excuse yourself to remove spinach from your teeth. Our program facilitator is Dr. Stephanie “Mo” Moreira, CSU’s Director for the President’s Leadership Program and Assistant Director of Curricular Leadership. Many of our corporate partners will also be in attendance to help students practice these skills.

👚 Recommended Attire is Business Professional – though the purpose of this event is to learn and practice, it also offers an opportunity to build confidence while engaging with business and industry professionals. We strongly recommend that you come dressed in your best. We have additional guidance on professional attire on our CMC website.

💰 Refundable Deposit Required – the CMC requires a $20 refundable deposit to register for the event due to the high cost of hosting a plated dinner event. The deposit confirms your reserved seat for the event, then when you attend you’ll receive your deposit back in full. We understand that after you register, your plans may change. Please notify us within one week of the event if you will no longer be able to attend so that we may invite a student from our waiting list. If you fail to attend without reasonable prior notification, your deposit will not be refunded. Deposits can be paid online with debit/credit cards or paid in cash at the CMC front desk in Rockwell West 210. After the event, deposits will be returned in the same form received provided that the student has attended the event. 🍽️ Commit to the Entire Event – this is NOT a drop-in event. This event has limited, reserved seating. Students are expected to arrive on time for the event and stay the entire duration. Significant planning takes place for this program and there will be a facilitated program throughout the event. Arriving late and/or leaving early is not permitted. Please do NOT register for this event if you cannot make a commitment to the duration of the program.
