CMC Student Club and Organization Support
All student clubs and organizations within the College of Business (COB) can receive career-related support from the Career Management Center (CMC). In order to be considered a COB student club and organization to receive this support, clubs/organization must:
- Be composed primarily of COB students
- Be listed on the COB Clubs and Organizations website
- Connect with CMC staff once per year by either attending the beginning-of-semester CMC student organization meeting or, if unable to attend, meeting separately with the CMC
- Submit club contact information to the CMC when requested each semester

Student organizations within the College of Business can request presentations or workshops from the Career Management Center on essential career development topics, such as:

We also collaborate with organizations to create custom presentations tailored to your needs.
Note that there is a minimum of 15 attendees required for requested presentations or workshops. The Career Management Center can assist in connecting you with employers for career-related events organized by student organizations within the College of Business, as long as the event is open to all College of Business students and has a career focus. These events may include: Networking Mixers, Employer Panels, Industry Speaker Events, and more!
Requirements:
- You must be requesting less than 10 employers to attend your event. If you are hosting a larger event, we ask that you apply to become a Career-Ready Club and request your event to be featured in our semesterly CMC employer events email.
- Events must be career-related and open to all COB students.
- Organizations must review the Employer Communication Best Practices handout and the CMC Event Planning Guide for event planning FAQs prior to introduction being made (for Registered Student Organizations, SLICE’s Student Org Handbook is also a great resource).
- A minimum of 15-20 students must attend the event for employer engagement to be facilitated. If your student organization is smaller, we encourage you to collaborate with another organization to meet the attendance requirement. Feel free to contact us if you need assistance in making connections with other organizations.

To maximize the success of securing employers for club-hosted events, employer connection requests must be submitted at least three months prior to the event. Requests submitted after this deadline may not be considered due to limited employer availability.

COB student orgs have the opportunity to engage in a variety of volunteer experiences each semester and receive exclusive invitations to CMC-hosted events for students. These opportunities not only enhance professional development but also foster connections with employers and peers.
- COB Career Fair — Volunteer roles include assisting with employer and student check-in, supporting the headshot photo station, and more.
- Recruiter Resume Revisions — Help facilitate the event by managing student check-in.
- Additional Volunteer Opportunities — Previous roles have included staffing Career Fair information tables and creating content for our website and social media platforms.
- CMC Events — Many events offer student involvement, such as participating in student and employer panels, as well as networking sessions. COB student club and org members receive priority invitations to engage in these experiences.
Meet with a Career Counselor
Student org leaders and members can schedule 45-minute appointments with a career counselor for personalized guidance. Alternatively, they can visit during Drop-In hours from 10am-2pm, Monday-Thursday, throughout the school year. For those who prefer a group setting, members can attend Drop-In hours together, with a limit of three people per group, to discuss shared goals like internship searches.
Resume and Cover Letter Samples
We offer a variety of resume samples tailored to different industries and career levels. We encourage you to provide these samples to your members to help them craft professional and impactful resumes.
Concentration Pathways
Our Concentration Pathways provide dedicated resource hubs for each of the 11 concentrations within the College of Business, equipping student organizations with the tools to support their members’ unique career journeys. Whether members are exploring career options or preparing for job applications, these tailored resources ensure they have the support they need to succeed.
Virtual Job Simulations
Forage provides virtual job simulations that allow students to experience different careers firsthand. These simulations help to provide practical insights and skills relevant to most business fields of interest, enhancing career exploration and preparation.

Our collection of career videos explore a wide range of professions, offering a deeper understanding of what various roles entail. These videos are a great way for members to learn about different career paths and make informed decisions about their futures.

COB Student Club and Org FAQS
To reserve a space or table in the College of Business, including the Rockwell West foyer, follow these steps:
- Check with your club advisor – Your advisor may be able to assist with the reservation process.
- Contact the Dean’s Student Support Staff (DSS) – Email cob_dean_office_student_support_staff_mailbox@mail.colostate.edu to request a reservation and confirm availability.
Be sure to submit your request in advance to secure your preferred space!
To display slides on the digital screens throughout the College of Business, you’ll need branding approval from our Marketing and Communications office. Follow these steps:
- Submit for branding approval – Email your slide to cob_branding@mail.colostate.edu, ensuring it aligns with CSU branding guidelines.
- Request screen placement – Once approved, forward the approved slide to cob_news@mail.colostate.edu, and they will upload it to the digital screens.

CMC Career-Ready Club Program
In addition to the support provided by the CMC to all COB student clubs and organizations mentioned above, student clubs and orgs can gain access to exclusive resources and support from the CMC by becoming a part of the CMC Career-Ready Club Program.
What is a Career-Ready Club?
Career-Ready Clubs within the CSU College of Business are student organizations that strategically partner with the Career Management Center (CMC) to elevate their members’ professional development.
Through this collaboration, clubs gain exclusive access to career-related resources, personalized support from the CMC, and increased visibility – both on the Career Management Center website and among College of Business employers.
Why become a Career-Ready Club?
By becoming a Career-Ready Club, student organizations receive essential tools to support their members’ career success while also helping expand awareness of the CMC’s services, events, and opportunities throughout the College of Business.
Additionally, clubs will receive a Career-Ready Club badge that can be displayed on their website, LinkedIn, and social media pages to showcase the club’s commitment to preparing their members for their future careers.

Career-Ready Club Requirements
In addition to the requirements that all COB students clubs and orgs must meet in order to receive CMC support, Career Ready Clubs must:
- Organize at least one career-focused guest speaker, presentation, or event each semester (see presentation and guest speaker request forms above)
- Post all scheduled meetings and events for the semester on Rams Connect in the College of Business Student Organization group events calendar (see Rams Connect for Career-Ready Clubs page for more information and a tutorial)
- Meet one-on-one with CMC staff once per academic year for a consultation session to develop tailored support, resources, and tools to help your organization succeed
- Promote Career Management Center events and initiatives within club meetings
- Host the Career Management Center at least once per academic year for a presentation or event announcement in a club meeting
Career-Ready Club Application
The CMC Career-Ready Club Program Application is now open.
Clubs are evaluated and accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. If your organization is interested in being part of the Career-Ready Club program, please apply below and we will be in touch.
Career-Ready Club badges and designations are awarded after a club meets with CMC staff to develop a plan for fulfilling all program requirements. Designations are valid through the end of the academic year and must be renewed annually, starting each fall.
CMC Career-Ready Club Offerings
The Career Management Center offers an Event Toolkit to assist Career-Ready Clubs with on-campus career-related events. The toolkit includes everything needed for CSU Student nametag printing and night-of check-in at a club-hosted event, including:
- Laptops (2)
- Nametag Printers (2)
- Student ID Scanners (2)
- Sticky Nametags (up to 50)
- One CMC Staff Member to Set Up the Laptops/Printers and Provide Training for Student Org Leaders at the Event
Prior to submitting an event toolkit rental request form (below) we ask that you read and follow the Employer Communication Best Practices handout and the CMC Event Planning Guide.
To ensure timely processing, event toolkit requests must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the event. Requests submitted after this deadline may not be considered and are likely to be declined. Event Toolkit rentals are subject to availability and are distributed on a first-come first-serve basis.
Additional Notes:
- We do not provide nametags for non-CSU students or company representatives.
- We do not pre-print nametags for club-hosted events.
- If your event includes non-CSU students or company representatives, you may purchase your own nametags (we recommend these ones from Avery) and follow their template for printing, or inform attendees that they must bring their own nametags.

CLOSED FOR SPRING 2026 EVENTS
If you are hosting a large event (more than 10 employers) for your organization in Fall 2026 and would like for us to feature the event within our semesterly employer outreach email, please check back on this page at the end of the spring semester to submit the employer event request form with all of the details about the event.
Student organizations within the College of Business can request promotional support from the Career Management Center to promote career-related events and initiatives that are open to all College of Business students. By leveraging the CMC’s communication channels, organizations can increase visibility and engagement for their programming.
Marketing support may include promotion through Handshake event postings, CMC Instagram Story posts, event listings on the CMC website, and the possibility of being featured in the CMC weekly newsletter. All promotions are subject to availability and relevance. The CMC does not provide printing for marketing materials and any promotional material costs must be covered by the club.
To ensure effective promotion, organizations must submit a marketing request form with all necessary event details at least two weeks in advance using the form below.

Career-Ready Clubs can request the creation of a resume book featuring their members’ resumes to share with one company per academic year. The company must be a CMC corporate partner or be a company that has attended the COB Career Fair in the past year (we can help brainstorm potential companies).
This program provides a valuable way for students to showcase their skills and connect with potential job opportunities.
To Request a Resume Book:

Process:
- We will contact the selected employer to gauge their interest.
- If they agree, we will create a submission page for your club members to submit their resumes.
- Once resumes are collected, we will compile and share the resume book with the employer.

Career-Ready Clubs can request the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at a local company (within ~50 miles of the COB) through a Behind the Business tour.
These customized tours offer student organizations an inside look at real-world workplaces, where they can explore company culture, learn about potential career paths, and connect directly with industry professionals. From seeing day-to-day operations to networking with employees, this experience gives members a firsthand perspective on what it’s like to work in various industries.
To facilitate a tour, we ask that clubs have at least 10 interested members.
To Request a Behind the Business Tour:

Next Steps:
- We will reach out to the selected employer(s) to gauge their interest and availability.
- If an employer agrees, the CMC will collaborate with club leadership and the employer to coordinate the details and customize the tour experience for club members.

Career-Ready Clubs have exclusive access to designated drop-in hours for career support!
If this is something your club is interested in, you can schedule a two-hour drop-in career support session once per semester. During this time, Career Management Center staff will be available exclusively for your club, and any of your members can stop by—individually or with a group—for quick, 10–15 minute personalized career support.
Drop-ins can cover a variety of topics, including resume and cover letter reviews, quick interview tips, internship and job search strategies, or other career-related questions.
To coordinate a date and time that works best for your members (e.g., right before a club meeting or during a 3:00–5:00pm window), reach out to Abby Mankins at abby.mankins@colostate.edu.

Career-Ready Clubs can request the creation of a custom mock interview set. Interview sets will be created by the CMC, with potential inclusion of CMC corporate partners or a company that has attended the COB Career Fair asking tailored interview questions to your members.
To Request a Custom Mock Interview Question Set:
Email Abby Mankins at abby.mankins@colostate.edu with the industries, types of roles, or companies you’d like to target in a mock interview question set. Clubs can use these questions to do internal mock interviewing practice with their members – how clubs structure this practice is up to them.
Process:
- We will contact some target employers to gauge their interest in developing a list of mock interview questions for your club.
- If they agree, we will share the compiled list of questions with your club to use internally with your members. If not, the CMC will develop a mock interview question set and share with your club to use internally with your members.
